Our Standard
We got tired of paying premium prices for filler.
The Problem
Walk into any pharmacy. Pick up any bar that says "luxury" or "glow" or "skin-loving." Flip it over.
Good luck finding a TFM percentage. Good luck finding what the fragrance actually is. Good luck figuring out whether what you are holding is even legally soap.
Most of what India sells as premium bathing soap is not soap. It is a bathing bar — a different product category, with a different (lower) standard, that is allowed to replace real fat content with synthetic surfactants and sell itself to you with better packaging.
You were not imagining it when the "premium" bar dried your skin out. You were not being dramatic when it dissolved in a week. You were just not reading the right part of the label. Neither were we — until we did.
The Discovery
We started looking at formulations. Not marketing decks. Not brand positioning. Actual soap chemistry.
What we found was not complicated. Under BIS standard IS 2888 — the Indian government's own classification — toilet soap is graded 1, 2, or 3 by one number: Total Fatty Matter. TFM. The percentage of genuine fat in the bar.
Grade 1 means a minimum of 76% TFM. Most soaps you have used your whole life sit at 60–70%. Some sit lower.
The fat is what cleans gently. The fat is what makes the bar last. The fat is what keeps your skin from feeling stripped after every wash. When the fat is replaced with cheaper synthetic surfactants, the bar costs less to make — and your skin pays the difference.
Nobody was saying this clearly. Everybody was talking about rose extracts and celebrity skin and "the secret to glass skin." The actual variable — the one number that predicts whether a soap respects your skin — was sitting in small print under the barcode.
What We Built
So we built the bar we could not find.
Grade 1. 76% TFM minimum, verified under IS 2888. No bathing-bar workarounds. No "Parfum" hiding a synthetic blend — every scent is a named essential oil, listed exactly as it appears in the formula. Pay when it arrives, because we would rather earn your trust than ask for it upfront.
We named it Body Baddie because the whole point is confidence — not the kind that comes from following a 12-step routine, but the kind that comes from knowing exactly what you are putting on your skin and why.
The packaging looks like a Queen of Hearts playing card. Bold. Unapologetic. Designed to sit on your shelf and mean something.
We are not an ayurvedic brand. We are not a gentle-care brand. We are not a whitening brand. We are a Grade 1 soap brand — and that is a more specific, more verifiable, more honest thing to be than any of those.
The Standard
Every Body Baddie bar carries one claim we are happy to be tested on:
Grade 1 soap. Minimum 76% TFM. BIS IS 2888.
That is not a marketing line. It is a legal classification defined by the Bureau of Indian Standards. It is declared on our label because it is required to be — and because we want you to check it.
The TFM is on the back of the pack. The essential oil names are in the ingredient list. The category says "toilet soap," not "bathing bar." Every claim on the front of the pack has an answer on the back.
That is what we mean when we say premium.
What Makes Us Different
Grade 1, ≥76% TFM The highest toilet soap grade under BIS IS 2888. Not a claim — a declared, verifiable number on the label.
Essential oils. No "Parfum." Every scent ingredient is not cheap artificial fragrance its Essential oils. Nothing hidden inside a catch-all fragrance declaration.
Pay on delivery COD available across India. You do not pay until the bar is in your hands.
No bathing-bar workarounds Body Baddie is classified toilet soap, not bathing bar. Different standard. Higher bar. You can verify that too.
The Closer
We are not going to tell you our soap will change your life.
We will tell you it is made to a standard most brands quietly avoid, that every ingredient in it is listed honestly, and that you can check every claim we make on the back of the pack.
That is a lower ask than "trust us." It is just: look.
