Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you want to know about Body Baddie soaps — answered honestly.
Why Body Baddie
What makes Body Baddie genuinely different from other soaps?
Two things — and both are verifiable, not just claims.
Grade 1 soap base. Body Baddie is a Grade 1 soap per Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). That means 76%+ of what touches your skin is actual skin-nourishing Total Fatty Matter — not fillers or synthetic detergents. Most commercial soaps in India are Grade 2 or Grade 3, officially classified as toilet soaps.
Imported premium essential oils. We use imported premium essential oils for fragrance — not cheap artificial fragrance compounds. Essential oils are extracted from real plants and fruits. Artificial fragrance is a petroleum-derived chemical designed to mimic scent. Most brands use artificial fragrance because it costs a fraction of the real thing.
Grade 1 base + imported essential oils + high-performance skincare actives. That is why Body Baddie smells different, feels different, lasts longer, and does more for your skin.
What is a Grade 1 soap?
In India, soaps are graded by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) based on Total Fatty Matter (TFM) — the actual skin-nourishing component in soap. The higher the TFM, the better.
- Grade 1: 76%+ TFM — highest quality, most nourishing, longest lasting. This is Body Baddie.
- Grade 2: 70%+ TFM — mid-grade toilet soap.
- Grade 3: 60%+ TFM — lowest grade toilet soap. Most popular commercial brands.
Body Baddie is Grade 1. That is not a marketing claim — it is a government standard that most soaps in India do not meet.
Why are Grade 2 and Grade 3 soaps called toilet soaps?
Because that is their official BIS classification. Grade 2 and Grade 3 soaps are toilet soaps — designed for basic cleansing, not skin care. Their lower TFM means they contain more fillers, synthetic detergents, and harsh surfactants to compensate.
Most soaps sold in India — even those with premium packaging and celebrity endorsements — are Grade 2 or Grade 3. They are toilet soaps in premium boxes. The grade is on the label, if you know to look for it.
Body Baddie is Grade 1. We put it on the front.
Does Grade 1 soap last longer than regular soap?
Significantly longer — and this is one of the most important things people don’t know about soap grades.
Grade 1 soaps have higher TFM, which makes the bar denser, harder, and more compact. Grade 3 toilet soaps contain more water and fillers to substitute for the missing fatty matter — more water means the bar is softer, turns mushy faster, and dissolves quickly.
1 Body Baddie Grade 1 bar lasts as long as 2 regular Grade 3 soap bars.
Body Baddie may cost more per bar. It costs less per month. Do the math.
What is the difference between essential oils and artificial fragrance?
Artificial fragrance is a synthetic chemical compound made in a lab to mimic a scent. It is petroleum-derived, costs a fraction of real fragrance ingredients, and is used by the vast majority of soap brands — including many that call themselves natural or premium. It can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions with daily use.
Premium essential oils are extracted directly from plants, flowers, and fruits through steam distillation or cold pressing. 100% natural, skin-safe, and genuinely aromatic. Significantly more expensive, which is why most brands avoid them.
Body Baddie uses imported premium essential oils. Not because it is cheaper. Because it is better.
Why do most soap brands use artificial fragrance?
Cost. Artificial fragrance can cost 10 to 20 times less than premium essential oils for the same scent effect. At manufacturing scale, the savings are enormous.
The result is a soap that smells fine in the store but may cause irritation, dryness, or allergic reactions with daily use. Body Baddie made the opposite decision. Imported essential oils cost more to source and formulate — but the fragrance is genuine, complex, and skin-safe, not a chemical simulation.
Our Soaps
Are Body Baddie soaps safe for daily use?
Yes. Every bar is formulated for daily use. Our Grade 1 base means you are not stripping your skin’s natural oils the way Grade 3 toilet soaps do. No harsh sulfates, synthetic detergents, or artificial fragrance compounds.
For Sun of a Beach (Kojic Acid + Niacinamide + Salicylic Acid), once daily is ideal. Always apply SPF 30+ in the morning to protect your results.
Which soap is right for me?
- Glow Girl (Vitamin C + Niacinamide) — dull skin, uneven tone, want brighter skin
- Peach Please (Peach Extract + Shea Butter + Vitamin E + Hyaluronic Acid) — dry, dehydrated skin
- Sun of a Beach (Kojic Acid + Niacinamide + Salicylic Acid) — tan, dark spots, uneven tone
- Choc Me (Cocoa Butter + Dark Chocolate Extract + Almond Oil) — dry, rough skin needing intense nourishment
Extremely sensitive skin? Do a 24-hour patch test before full use.
How long does one bar last?
4 to 6 weeks with daily use — significantly longer than a standard Grade 3 soap bar. Our higher TFM content makes the bar denser and slower to dissolve. One Body Baddie bar equals two regular soap bars in usage.
To maximise life: store on a draining soap dish, keep away from direct water flow, and let it dry completely between uses.
Are Body Baddie soaps cruelty-free?
Yes. No animal testing. Ever.
Ingredients and Skin Science
What does Niacinamide do for skin?
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is one of the most clinically proven skincare ingredients. It inhibits melanin transfer to the skin’s surface, fading dark spots, post-acne marks, and uneven pigmentation. It strengthens your skin barrier for better moisture retention and regulates sebum for oily and combination skin.
Found in both Glow Girl and Sun of a Beach.
Can Vitamin C and Niacinamide be used together?
Yes — it is one of the most powerful brightening combinations in skincare. Vitamin C brightens at the surface by inhibiting melanin production. Niacinamide blocks melanin transfer deeper in skin. Together they deliver more radiant, even skin faster than either ingredient alone.
Glow Girl contains both in a balanced daily-use formula.
What does Kojic Acid do and how does it remove tan?
Kojic Acid inhibits tyrosinase — the enzyme your skin uses to produce melanin, the pigment behind tanning and dark spots. Daily use gradually reduces melanin in tanned areas, causing excess colour to fade.
Over 3 to 6 weeks of consistent use, tan lines lighten, dark spots fade, and skin tone evens out. Always pair with SPF 30+ in the morning — sun exposure without protection undoes the brightening work.
How long does Sun of a Beach take to remove tan?
- Week 1–2: Skin feels smoother, surface dullness reduces
- Week 3–4: Tan begins visibly lightening, skin tone more even
- Week 6–8: Significant fading of tan and dark spots, skin noticeably brighter
Use daily. Rinse thoroughly. SPF every morning — no exceptions.
Can Salicylic Acid and Kojic Acid be used together?
Yes — in Sun of a Beach’s balanced formula. Salicylic Acid gently exfoliates dead, tanned skin cells so Kojic Acid can penetrate more effectively. Niacinamide calms potential irritation and strengthens the skin barrier. Because this is a rinse-off soap with limited contact time, the combination is safe for daily use. Lather, leave 30 to 60 seconds, rinse.
What does Cocoa Butter do for skin?
Cocoa Butter’s fatty acids penetrate deeply to restore moisture at a cellular level. It forms a protective barrier that locks hydration in and prevents water loss. Rich in Vitamins A, E, and F. Antioxidants fight free radical damage.
Choc Me combines Cocoa Butter with Dark Chocolate Extract and Almond Oil for triple-layer nourishment from the first wash.
What does Hyaluronic Acid do in a soap bar?
Hyaluronic Acid holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water. In Peach Please, it delivers a hydration surge during your cleanse — pulling moisture from the environment and binding it to your skin. Even as a rinse-off ingredient, it leaves skin feeling plump and soft throughout the day.
Is Shea Butter good for skin?
Yes. High in fatty acids and vitamins, Shea Butter softens and conditions skin without grease, absorbs quickly, and has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe sensitive and irritated skin. Makes skin visibly smoother within days of regular use.
Found in Peach Please alongside Peach Extract, Vitamin E, and Hyaluronic Acid.
Using Your Soap
How do I use a Body Baddie soap bar correctly?
- Wet skin thoroughly with warm water
- Rub the bar between palms or directly on skin to build a lather
- Massage into skin using circular motions
- For Glow Girl and Sun of a Beach, let lather sit 30 to 60 seconds before rinsing — this increases ingredient contact time
- Rinse thoroughly until no residue remains
- Pat dry gently. Do not rub.
- Follow with a body moisturiser to lock in benefits
How should I store my soap bar?
Use a soap dish with drainage holes. Keep the bar outside the direct shower stream. Let it dry completely between uses. Never store in a sealed container. A well-stored bar lasts 4 to 6 weeks. A bar sitting in water turns mushy and dissolves in days.
Do I need to use SPF when using Sun of a Beach?
Yes — non-negotiable. Kojic Acid and Niacinamide reduce your skin’s melanin production. Without SPF, UV exposure triggers new melanin and undoes the brightening work. Apply SPF 30+ every morning and reapply every 2 to 3 hours when outdoors. Your results compound week over week when you protect them.
